Glencoe Road

The clients brief for this project is for their home to be nestled in amongst the station landscape, and blend in with the open rural surrounds.

The complex roofline is particularly special. It was modeled off the old barn structure at the entrance to the property and the mountain ridges behind. The coloursteel profiles had to run on a specific 78 degree angle. The ridgelines are on a 10 degree off set to the floor plan. Building at these unusual angles takes craftsmanship and an eye for detail for everything to fit together.

The house is passive , meaning that it is airtight with ground source underfloor heating.

The property also contains a self-contained studio for possible income opportunities or extra accommodation for family and friends.

The family living area looks out to the Remarkables Mountain range with cedar feature walls continuing the use of natural materials to blend rather than dominate the station landscape.
